Opaque in color, deep, dark red with a ruby edge. Big bold and brooding aromas of black fruit: Blackberry, black cherry, blueberry and plum accented with mineral notes of subtle toast, roasted coffee, dark chocolate and a lifted notes of cedar and bay laurel. On the palate the wine has a rich and focused entry that builds to a full mid-palate and finishing with smooth ripe tannins resembling cocoa nibs. Balancing big, bold, ripe flavors of black cherry, red plum, cassis with smoky, toasty notes and sweet herbs (sage & tarragon), spice and structured tannins, a vibrant acidity gives the promise of aging well for decades to come.
