The 2014 Reserve Cabernet is opaque, deep, dark red in color with aromas of rich and Bing cherry, plum, and cassis followed by vanilla, cocoa bean, caramel, a hint of cedar and a lingering note of dark chocolate. The palate shows layers of dried black cherry, fleshy ripe plum, and firm, full and fine tannins. Flavors of smoky, toasted oak and exotic spice compliment this weighty and full big wine. The wine will benefit from decanting.

This is a stunning vintage for one of Alexander Valley’s prestigious labels, with exotic jasmine and sweet black raspberry aromas. Boysenberry and mulberry jam and toast drape the mouth and the continuing parade of expressive fruit become more dramatic and voluptuous. Tannins are round and the texture is plush. — Tasting Panel,
